Restorative Procedures

Our Dentists can do everything from basic silver fillings and tooth colored fillings to very natural looking, multiple porcelain crowns.  If we had to pick something we do best, restorative treatment is it.

Endodontics (Root Canals)

Our Dentists are also very good at Endodontics.  They have the training, equipment, and experience to perform all but the most complicated root canals.  Don't worry about the jokes you may have heard about root canals--new technology has changed things a lot.  Sometimes our patients even fall asleep during the procedure--the latest techniques virtually eliminate discomfort during root canal therapy.  A small percentage of cases require micro surgery, or would just take us a really long time to perform (uncomfortable for the patient).  In those instances we would refer you to a local specialist in Endodontics.

Oral Surgery (extractions)

If your teeth can't be saved, our Dentists are equipped to perform very sophisticated extractions.  For the comfort of our patients, we do refer very difficult extractions to an oral surgeon.  Also here in the mall, we do not have the ability to intravenously sedate (put you to sleep).  In cases where the patient should be sedated for a surgical procedure, we refer to local oral surgeons.

Pediatric Dentistry

Kids can be a handful, especially in a dental office.  Many general practitioners refer to a pediatric specialist for 100% of pediatric cases. We do everything we can to treat your children here.  As long as your child is well behaved, we should be able to take care of them.  We also devote a lot of extra effort to educating Mom & Dad about improving and preserving children's dental health.  Don't forget to ask about sealants--an excellent preventive tool to help avoid tooth decay.

Periodontics (gum treatment)

This is a critical area of dental care.  More people end up with dentures due to gum disease than as a result of tooth decay. Our hygienists (Lisa and Vicki) are the first line of defense for preserving the health of your gums.  Our Dentists are also able to perform  some types of gum surgery, for patients with a history of gum disease.  We also have a great professional relationship with a local periodontist (gum specialist) which allows us to refer very complex cases.  This all combines into a strong collection of services that help you minimize the chances of loosing a single tooth.  Today we have patients in their 80's with a complete set of teeth--in 20 years, this will be very, very common.  This is largely due to advances in periodontics and the prevention of gum disease .

Cosmetic Dentistry

This is a new and rapidly growing field in Dentistry.  Many of our patients are very excited about what our Dentists can do to improve the look of their smiles.  We offer everything from tooth whitening, through customized bleaching systems, to porcelain veneers to help you get the smile you've always wanted.

When it comes to cosmetics, we are very conservative.  We don't advise patients to pursue these services until they have achieved good general oral health.  Cosmetic services are a great step forward when built on a foundation of strong dental health.

Prosthodontics (bridges, partial dentures and complete dentures)

We provide the full range of prosthodontic services.  We can do bridges, removable partial dentures, full upper or lower dentures.  We also offer a wide variety of custom built tooth replacements that look and perform very much like real teeth.  Unlike denturists, our dentists have the ability to perform dental surgery while fitting a prosthetic device.  This allows them to modify your teeth and mouth for a perfect fit and superior function.

Dental implants

This is a relatively new area of Dentistry.  Many of our patients, who have lost teeth, prefer dental implants to removable dentures.  Implants offer several advantages since they look and perform very much like natural teeth.  Though more costly, the functional and aesthetic advantages make implants a better investment for many people.  For patients with problems using a lower denture, an implant retained denture is a great way to increase chewing ability and overall performance of the denture.

Occlusion Management (TMD/TMJ)

As with all joints in the human body, the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint) has a position where it is at rest.  Most people's teeth do not mesh when the jaw joint is at rest.  In some people this can lead to symptoms of jaw muscle pain, headaches, grinding or clenching of the teeth.  General Dentists normally address occlusion problems, after extensive, post-doctorial training in this field.  Treatment is focused on correcting problems with jaw alignment and grinding of teeth.  This therapy can be very effective for reducing headaches and muscular tension.  Occlusion management is also effective in reducing or eliminating rapid wear of the teeth due to grinding.   Our practice has hosted training, for local dentists, given by the International Partnership for the Study of Occlusion.  We are working hard to ensure we can deliver this complex service that has so greatly improved many patients quality of life.

Orthodontics (braces)

Our orthodontic services are generally limited to straightening one or two teeth that are crooked, often due to trauma.  For full mouth orthodontics, we refer to local specialists.
